Core Idea

Designers study goals, actions, tools, division of labor, context, and task sequence, then shape system support so the whole activity becomes more effective and intelligible. Mapping dependencies among actions reveals missing transitions and coordination burdens, allowing the artifact to scaffold the work structure shared across user variants. The abstraction is therefore identified by a declared carrier, a transformation or constraint over that carrier, and an invariant that tells an analyst whether the named structure is genuinely present.
