• A Posteriori Necessity — A proposition has a posteriori necessity when its truth requires empirical warrant while its modal status is necessary: once the actual referents, identities, or essences are fixed, the proposition could not have been false.
• Emanationism — A metaphysical-cosmological doctrine in which all levels of reality proceed necessarily from a first principle through successively mediated and diminished derivations.
