Cast paper¶
A paper-forming technique in which wet fiber pulp is pressed or poured into a mold and dried into a relief or three-dimensional shape.
Core Idea¶
Cast paper uses dispersed fiber, optionally with binder or filler, to reproduce a mold's surface and produce bas-relief or free-standing sculptural forms rather than a flat sheet. Hydrated fibers conform to a negative or positive mold, water is removed while fiber bonds develop and the released dry form retains the molded geometry. The abstraction is therefore identified by a declared carrier, a transformation or constraint over that carrier, and an invariant that tells an analyst whether the named structure is genuinely present.
