Communication source¶
The sender or stochastic process that generates and encodes message symbols for transmission through a communication channel to one or more receivers.

A communication source is the origin that selects or produces messages to be conveyed or reproduced elsewhere. The source emits symbols according to intentions or a statistical process, an encoder maps them to channel inputs, and source properties determine compression and fidelity limits.
