Conformance testing¶
Assessment of whether a product, process, service, or implementation satisfies stated requirements of a specification, standard, contract, or regulation.
Core Idea¶
Conformance testing derives testable requirements, selects applicable cases and evidence, observes behavior or properties, and maps results to a declared conformity decision rule. A controlled test or inspection compares the subject with normative clauses while accounting for scope, tolerances, versions, sampling, and laboratory competence. The abstraction is therefore identified by a declared carrier, a transformation or constraint over that carrier, and an invariant that tells an analyst whether the named structure is genuinely present.
The load-bearing residual is not the broad topic of quality assurance. It is the domain-specific identity determined by the assessed subject, controlling requirements, test method, applicability conditions, and pass-fail rule are all explicit and traceable.
Scope of Application¶
