Core Idea¶

Content validity depends on an explicit construct blueprint and systematic expert judgment about item relevance, representativeness and coverage, rather than merely whether the instrument appears plausible. Experts map items to defined facets, rate relevance and missing coverage and aggregate agreement through qualitative review or indices such as the content-validity ratio. The abstraction is therefore identified by a declared carrier, a transformation or constraint over that carrier, and an invariant that tells an analyst whether the named structure is genuinely present.
