Corrections¶
Checking this entry found 1 error, now corrected: against its sources, or where it contradicted itself or its arithmetic did not hold. It is listed here so a reader can see what changed. How references were checked.
- 2026-09-08 · Factual correction. Misdescribed the mate-choice decoy experiment's manipulation and outcome measure; it now reports the third, inferior candidate and the choice measured.

| v5 | 2026-09-19 | Both layers now take their origin domain from one shared 65-domain roster. The domain-specific layer had drifted to 2,744 free-text domain labels, most used once and many just restating the entry's own subdomain, sharing only 18 of them with the closed list the primes used — so the same domain name meant different things in the two layers and their counts could not be read together. All 2,716 off-roster labels were mapped onto the roster, and the finer specialty each entry was authored with was kept as its subdomain, now a list rather than a single value; subdomains that only repeated the domain under an older or broader name were dropped. The prime side no longer reads a hand-maintained registry that had fallen behind the corpus — the Mathematics page listed 66 primes when 154 claimed the domain — and the 61 primes carrying no origin domain at all were classified. Every domain also rolls up into one of eight groups, shown on each entry and browsable in its own right. | structure — origin (fields changed) |
| v4 | 2026-09-16 | Citation verification: a first 3,245 citations (7.5 %, prime abstractions) now carry a "Show verification details" record under the article's References and on the work's page — graded Supported, Supported in part, or Borderline support, each naming what it was verified against and quoting the passage it rests on. New "Against the text" section and filter on the References index; reference-page Verification rewritten as question and answer. Footnotes cleaned of editorial bookkeeping (~2,900 entries; ~450 mechanism/article versions move). Registry rebuilt. Negative verdicts withheld pending review. | prose — detailed body (prose edited) |
| v3 | 2026-09-10 | DS reference campaign batch 6 (60 entries cited, 351 slots, all filled — no reader-facing citation-pending gaps left); ~90 prose errors corrected against the sources that establish them and independently reviewed, among them social loafing attributed to Steiner (1972) where it is Latané, Williams & Harkins (1979), and Hill's 1988 random-number guessing result restated to what the experiment found rather than what the audit test later made of it; every FACT marker in these entries now carries a footnote, and each reference names the work, its link where one exists, and what it is taken to establish. | prose — detailed body (prose edited) |
| v2 | 2026-09-08 | A major expansion: 61 new prime abstractions and 4,412 new domain-specific abstractions. The encyclopedia now contains 1,482 primes and 7,556 domain-specific abstractions. For the handful of entries that were pre-existing, they were audited against references to improve their their accuracy. | prose — concise body (prose edited), detailed body (prose edited) |

Editions are cut at publish time from a content hash of the entity's canonical source, so a version changes only when the content actually changed. Full canonical content for every edition, and the exact per-part diffs between them, are in the downloadable editions archive (editions_archive.jsonl); the current-state index is versions.jsonl.
