- Absolute angular momentum — Angular momentum measured in an inertial frame, used in atmospheric dynamics to combine planetary rotation with motion relative to Earth.
- Cataclysmic pole shift hypothesis — A pseudoscientific claim that Earth's rotation axis or geographic poles can shift rapidly relative to the crust and cause sudden global catastrophes, contrary to geophysical evidence.

- Lissajous orbit — A generally quasiperiodic three-dimensional trajectory oscillating around a collinear Lagrange point of a three-body system.
- Local tangent plane coordinates — A location-dependent Cartesian frame tangent to an Earth reference ellipsoid, commonly oriented east–north–up or north–east–down.
- Longitude of the ascending node — An orbital element measuring in a chosen reference plane the directed angle from a reference direction to the point where an orbit crosses that plane northward.
- Northern celestial hemisphere — The half of the celestial sphere north of the celestial equator.
- Oblique Mercator projection — A conformal cylindrical map projection oriented along an arbitrary great-circle or geodesic axis, minimizing distortion for narrow regions extending diagonally rather than north-south or east-west.
- Orbital inclination change — An orbital maneuver that rotates an orbit's plane by changing the velocity vector near a line where the initial and desired planes intersect.
- Orbital state vectors — A position vector and velocity vector at a specified epoch in a specified reference frame that together determine an orbiting body's instantaneous translational state for a declared dynamical model.
