Hybrid novel¶
A novel that makes multiple media or textual modes—such as prose, image, diagram, poetry or document facsimile—constitutive of its narrative form.
Core Idea¶
Incidental illustration does not necessarily make a work hybrid, terminology overlaps multimodal and intermedial novel and the modes’ narrative integration must be analyzed.
