Hypergraphy¶
A Lettrist visual-communication practice that composes letters, invented signs, pictographs and images beyond ordinary phonetic writing to make the graphic surface itself a field of meaning.

Hypergraphy is an experimental Lettrist mode that combines heterogeneous sign systems while suspending the requirement that written marks primarily encode phonetic language.[1] Recognizable and invented signs are juxtaposed, layered and spatially organized so visual form, cross-script association and undecipherability become semantic and aesthetic operations.
