Maestro concept¶
A newsroom planning method that assembles reporting, editing, photography, graphics and design around an important story before production begins.
Core Idea¶
The method starts from a reader-centered story idea, convenes a cross-functional planning session and coordinates text and visual elements as one project rather than handing a finished article sequentially between desks. A designated maestro brings contributors together to define the reader question, assign complementary elements, review prototypes or budgets and maintain coherence through publication. The abstraction is therefore identified by a declared carrier, a transformation or constraint over that carrier, and an invariant that tells an analyst whether the named structure is genuinely present.
