Theatre¶
A collaborative performing-art form in which embodied performers present structured real or imagined action to an audience in a shared or mediated event of staging and attention.
Core Idea¶
Theatre can combine speech, gesture, music, dance, objects, design and technology; traditions differ in text, improvisation, ritual, performer–audience boundary, venue and liveness. Artists select and rehearse actions, roles and stage relations; performers realize them in time and space, technical elements shape perception, and an audience interprets the event through co-presence or an explicitly theatrical mediation. The abstraction is therefore identified by a declared carrier, a transformation or constraint over that carrier, and an invariant that tells an analyst whether the named structure is genuinely present.
Scope of Application¶

Clarity¶
The abstraction clarifies a crowded vocabulary by making the tradition and historical setting, work or event, performers and roles, audience relation, venue and spatial arrangement, script or improvisation, directing and rehearsal, acting conventions, speech, movement and music, scenery, costume, lighting and sound, liveness and mediation, duration and documentation are explicit the center of the account. Manages Complexity¶
Without the abstraction, an analyst must reason directly over many local details: the carrier roles, admissibility assumptions, competing conventions, derived invariants, boundary cases, and proof or validation obligations specific to Theatre.
