Truthiness¶
Acceptance or assertion of a claim because it feels intuitively true or identity-congruent despite inadequate evidence, logic or factual verification.
Core Idea¶
Truthiness substitutes felt rightness for disciplined truth assessment. Emotion, familiarity and motivated interpretation create confidence that resists contradictory evidence, and rhetorical repetition converts that confidence into public assertion. The abstraction is therefore identified by a declared carrier, a transformation or constraint over that carrier, and an invariant that tells an analyst whether the named structure is genuinely present.
