  • 2026-06-21 · Citation corrected. Gave Heller and Vienne (2012) the title Color in Art, Design, and Nature, which they did not write; their 2012 book is 100 Ideas that Changed Graphic Design (Laurence King).
  • 2026-06-21 · Citation corrected. Cited Gibson (1979) for the design tension between static and dynamic emphasis, which it does not address; the sentence now cites Arnheim's Art and Visual Perception (1974).
  • 2026-06-21 · Citation corrected. Cited Gibson's The Ecological Approach to Visual Perception (1979) for design techniques that steer the eye to a focal point; the sentence now cites Lauer and Pentak's Design Basics (2011).
  • 2026-06-21 · Citation corrected. Dated Itten's The Elements of Color to 1975; the edition cited was published in 1970.

v4 2026-09-19 The "Also from" domains were brought onto the canonical roster. Across this pass 148 entries spanning 95 off-roster values fell to 2 over 78 prime abstractions: 80 were renamed to the domain they already meant (biology to Biology & Ecology, forensics to Criminology & Forensic Studies), three of those renames turned out to repeat the prime's own origin domain and were removed rather than kept as an alternate that says nothing, 61 named a specialty rather than a domain — machine learning, epidemiology, network science — and moved to the entry's subdomain where narrow labels belong, and 5 were too generic to tell a reader anything and were dropped. One value whose reading was genuinely unclear was left untouched rather than guessed at. structure — origin (fields changed)
v3 2026-09-16 Citation verification: a first 3,245 citations (7.5 %, prime abstractions) now carry a "Show verification details" record under the article's References and on the work's page — graded Supported, Supported in part, or Borderline support, each naming what it was verified against and quoting the passage it rests on. New "Against the text" section and filter on the References index; reference-page Verification rewritten as question and answer. Footnotes cleaned of editorial bookkeeping (~2,900 entries; ~450 mechanism/article versions move). Registry rebuilt. Negative verdicts withheld pending review. prose — detailed body (prose edited)
v2 2026-08-30 Collapsed 2 footnote keys that were defined more than once in this file; the renderer and the reference extractor both keep only the last definition, so the earlier copies were unreachable. 2 references on this page now carry the link that was sitting shadowed in the file. 1 key carried two different annotations; they were merged by two independent readers and an arbitrator, so no observation about a source was dropped. prose — detailed body (prose edited)
v1 2026-08-24 First published edition. first published edition

Editions are cut at publish time from a content hash of the entity's canonical source, so a version changes only when the content actually changed. Full canonical content for every edition, and the exact per-part diffs between them, are in the downloadable editions archive (editions_archive.jsonl); the current-state index is versions.jsonl.
