Forer's 1949 classroom demonstration gave all 39 students the same 13-statement personality sketch and had them rate how well it described them. Forer reported that the class rated the identical sketch at near ceiling, only five whole-sketch ratings falling below 4 on the 0-5 scale. 1949 classroom demonstration in which students rated a supposed individual personality sketch before Forer disclosed that every student had received the identical text.
