Consonant cluster¶
A sequence of adjacent consonantal segments without an intervening vowel within a syllable, word, or declared phonological domain.

Consonant clusters occupy onset, coda, or cross-syllable positions under language-specific phonotactic constraints and must be distinguished from single contour segments, orthographic letter groups, and vowel deletion effects.
