- 180-degree rule — A continuity-editing convention that keeps camera positions on one side of a scene's action axis so characters retain stable left-right screen relationships across cuts.
- 360-degree video — A video format capturing or synthesizing a spherical field of view so a viewer can choose the viewing direction during playback.
- 3D projection — A mapping that represents three-dimensional geometry on a two-dimensional surface under explicit perspective, orthographic, oblique, or related projection rules.
- Anamorphosis — A deliberately distorted projection that resolves into a recognizable image only from a prescribed viewpoint or through an optical device such as a curved mirror.
- Chain code — A contour representation that encodes a connected digital boundary as a start coordinate followed by symbols for successive grid-neighbor directions.
- Color grading — A post-production image process that deliberately transforms tone and color to establish a consistent technical rendering and intended visual style across shots or images.
- Cropping (image) — The removal of peripheral regions from an image or moving-image frame to change composition, framing, aspect ratio, or subject emphasis.
- Diagonal method — A visual-composition rule of thumb that places salient details on or near diagonals drawn from image corners to perpendicular points on the frame.
- Full frame (cinematography) — A motion-imaging format using a sensor area approximately equal to the 36-by-24-millimeter frame of 35 mm still photography.
- Image color transfer — A mapping that transforms a source image’s color or tone distribution to resemble that of a target image while aiming to preserve source content.
- Image rectification — A geometric transformation that maps images into a common plane so corresponding scene points align along simplified search loci.
- Interlaced video — A video scanning method that transmits alternating odd- and even-line fields captured at successive times, increasing field rate and perceived motion smoothness within limited bandwidth.
- Jones diagram — A multiaxis Cartesian chart whose paired directions represent related photographic variables so equivalent field of view and image-format choices can be compared graphically.
- Legendre moment — An image descriptor obtained by projecting image intensity onto a two-dimensional orthogonal Legendre-polynomial basis.
- Local maximum intensity projection — Render volumetric data by tracing each viewing ray and selecting the first threshold-qualified local intensity maximum, preserving depth order that global maximum projection discards.
- Metropolis light transport — A global-illumination rendering method that uses Metropolis-Hastings mutations of complete light-transport paths to concentrate samples on image contributions that are difficult to find independently.
- Motion comic — An audiovisual adaptation form that animates or spatially expands existing comic panels while adding timing, camera movement, voice, music and sound without fully redrawing conventional animation.
- Motion interpolation — Synthesize temporally intermediate video frames by estimating motion between observed frames, mapping content toward the target time, and resolving occlusion and newly visible regions to increase temporal sampling.

- Point-set registration — The estimation of a spatial transformation that aligns two or more point sets into a common coordinate frame despite noise, outliers or incomplete overlap.
- Primary color — A selected set of colored lights or colorants whose mixtures define a target gamut under a specified additive, subtractive or other color-mixing model.
- Reaction shot — A film-editing shot that cuts from an initiating event or speaker to a character’s response, making interpretation, emotion, and interpersonal causality visible.
- Screen-door effect — A display artifact in which the nonemissive gaps between pixels or subpixels become visibly resolved as a dark grid over the image.
- Sequence (filmmaking) — A coherent narrative unit composed of one or more scenes or shots that advances a distinct phase of a film's action, idea or dramatic development.
- Shape from focus — A three-dimensional reconstruction method that estimates scene depth from how image focus or defocus changes across a stack of differently focused views.
- Standard test image — A shared reference image used by multiple researchers or systems to compare image-processing, compression, reconstruction, transmission, calibration, and quality-assessment results under repeatable conditions.
- Structure from motion (psychophysics) — Perception of three-dimensional shape from systematic changes in a two-dimensional moving image.
- Trimetrogon — An aerial-photographic survey configuration using one vertical and two symmetrically oblique cameras to obtain overlapping horizon-to-horizon terrain coverage suitable for stereoscopic mapping.
- Troxler's fading — The perceptual disappearance of a stationary peripheral stimulus during steady fixation, often replaced by the surrounding visual field.
- Video feedback — A recursive audiovisual process in which a camera captures its own displayed output, generating delayed self-referential imagery.
- Visual hull — The maximal three-dimensional shape consistent with a set of calibrated object silhouettes, formed by intersecting their back-projected silhouette cones.
- Volumetric path tracing — A Monte Carlo rendering method that samples light-transport paths through scattering and absorbing participating media as well as surfaces.
