Core Idea¶

Memorialization is the process by which communities or institutions preserve, stage and transmit collective memory of people or events.^[1] Selective representation, ritual repetition, spatial inscription and institutional stewardship stabilize a public account while counter-memories, reinterpretation and decommemoration contest it.
