Quantum Energy Teleportation¶
A correlated-state protocol uses a classically communicated local measurement outcome to condition remote local extraction of energy unavailable by the corresponding unconditioned action.
Core Idea¶
Quantum energy teleportation (QET) is a protocol in which a sender's local measurement outcome helps a receiver choose an action that releases energy at the receiver's site. In the original spin-chain and quantum-field proposals, the parties begin with a correlated ground or vacuum state. Alice measures locally and sends her outcome by an ordinary classical channel. Bob applies a local operation chosen from that outcome. In the stated model, Bob's apparatus then gains positive energy that the corresponding unconditioned local action could not extract. The message is useful information about correlations, not an energy packet or a faster-than-light signal.[ref-17c87af79f12][ref-3f68a711f87a]
The original papers are theoretical protocols. They calculate where energy enters and leaves under specified Hamiltonians, allowed actions, timing, and energy baselines. A superconducting-processor experiment later tested model predictions with a circuit using deferred measurement. That circuit did not literally send a separated classical message to a distant load or demonstrate usable remote power.[ref-17c87af79f12][ref-3f68a711f87a][^ref-2805ae87fc08]
Scope of Application¶
The full spin-chain case uses a near-critical entangled chain, a local spin projection, and a short-time approximation before ordinary chain dynamics propagates the injected excitation. The unlike full field case uses a free massless scalar field in 1+1 dimensions, a local general measurement, moving wave packets, and a later conditioned unitary. The cases share the correlated resource, sender outcome, classical announcement, conditioned receiver action, and calculated receiver gain. They do not share identical timing assumptions or negative-energy equations.[ref-17c87af79f12][ref-3f68a711f87a]
The hardware result supports a narrower claim: protocol-equivalent quantum circuits can reproduce predicted energy expectation values with error mitigation. It is corroboration for a model implementation, not a third literal sender-message-receiver case.[^ref-2805ae87fc08]
Clarity¶
QET separates four events that the word “teleportation” can blur: Alice's measurement injects energy, an ordinary message carries her outcome, Bob's outcome-dependent local action takes place, and a declared energy account assigns positive gain to his apparatus. In the field proposal, the initial positive-energy packets can pass Bob before the message arrives. The gain is therefore not explained by simply catching Alice's traveling excitation. A negative local-energy expectation is calculated relative to the model's chosen zero; it does not mean that total energy becomes negative.[ref-17c87af79f12][ref-3f68a711f87a]
Manages Complexity¶
A many-body or field calculation becomes a sequence of testable roles: fix the initial correlated state and local-energy baseline; specify the measurement and its result; send the result causally; select Bob's local operation; and calculate the energy before and after it. This sequence helps compare the spin and field settings while retaining each model's assumptions. It does not make all QET extensions obey the same numerical efficiency, wave-packet timing, or negative-energy formula.[ref-17c87af79f12][ref-3f68a711f87a]
Abstract Reasoning¶
The key counterfactual is whether Bob's outcome-conditioned operation can extract positive energy that a corresponding unconditioned local action cannot under the same model conditions. If not, the announced outcome is not doing the work claimed. A proposed case must also allow time for the message to arrive, keep Bob's action local and permitted, identify the source and destination of the gained energy, and conserve total energy. A state-teleportation result alone does not satisfy these checks.[ref-17c87af79f12][ref-3f68a711f87a]
Knowledge Transfer¶
To examine a new correlated quantum setting, identify the resource, an appropriate unconditioned comparison, the sender's measurement and message, Bob's control rule, and an energy calculation with a declared boundary. Transfer the checklist, then rederive the energy result for the new Hamiltonian and timing. A circuit's modeled energy expectation cannot be carried over to a claim that an external load receives usable power without separate evidence.[ref-17c87af79f12][ref-3f68a711f87a][^ref-2805ae87fc08]
The approved Energy Transfer parent names one internal part: in both original cases, modeled positive energy E_B passes locally from Bob's spin chain or field to his operation apparatus through his conditioned action. The whole sender-message-receiver protocol is not an Energy Transfer subtype. Although Alice performs a quantum measurement, the live Quantum Measurement parent inherits a Prime Measurement calibration-chain and systematic/random uncertainty budget that these idealized protocols do not establish, so no strict measurement edge is claimed here.
Example¶
Spin-chain proposal. Alice measures a spin in an entangled ground-state chain, injecting energy and obtaining outcome μ. She sends μ classically. Bob uses μ to choose a local spin operation within the proposal's short-time regime. Under the specified correlation condition, the chain's local energy near Bob falls below its chosen ground-state reference and positive E_B is released to Bob's device. This is a calculated transfer from chain to device, not a demonstrated remote power connection.[^ref-17c87af79f12]
Field proposal. Alice measures a local region of a free scalar-field vacuum and sends outcome n. Positive-energy packets produced by her measurement can pass Bob before he receives n. Bob then applies an n-dependent local unitary. The model calculates positive energy released from the field to his apparatus and a negative-energy packet in his region. This is a different physical model and timing regime with the same outcome-conditioned gain structure.[^ref-3f68a711f87a]
Bounded hardware corroboration. Ikeda's superconducting-processor circuit reproduced QET-model energy expectations, including negative local values, using a deferred-measurement implementation. It does not by itself establish a physically separated classical-message step or delivered external power.[^ref-2805ae87fc08]

Not to Be Confused With¶
- Quantum-state teleportation: moving state information is a different task; it does not establish receiver-side energy extraction.[^ref-17c87af79f12]
- Direct excitation transport: Alice's initial positive-energy excitation need not be the energy Bob receives locally.[ref-17c87af79f12][ref-3f68a711f87a]
- Superluminal signaling: Bob's choice waits for ordinary classical communication.[ref-17c87af79f12][ref-3f68a711f87a]
- Energy from nothing: every gain is interpreted with a declared local and total energy account.[ref-17c87af79f12][ref-3f68a711f87a]
