Use scale, contrast, vastness, or intensity to evoke awe and shift perception of significance while preserving safety, consent, and meaning.

The Diagnostic Story

Symptom: The subject is vast, grave, or consequential, yet people walk away treating it as ordinary. Numbers are stated correctly, exhibits look polished, but significance simply does not land. The intensity might even be high, yet participants remember the spectacle and nothing of what it was supposed to mean.

Pivot: Define first what the magnitude is meant to make felt, then choose scale and intensity cues that are truthful and proportionate to that aim. Build safe distance and consent so the encounter can be strong without overwhelming, and sequence the experience so the response connects to interpretation rather than ending at impression.

Resolution: Participants come away with significance durably registered in memory, not merely in a visceral reaction. Large scale, deep time, or collective weight becomes perceptible enough to inform judgment and commitment. Autonomy, safety, and accessibility are preserved throughout.
