Core Idea¶

Versions differ for names, demonstratives and natural-kind terms, reference fixing can use descriptive information without making it semantic content and empty names pose a boundary problem. A linguistic token is causally, demonstratively or historically linked to an object, and across possible-world evaluation that object itself remains the expression’s semantic contribution. The abstraction is therefore identified by a declared carrier, a transformation or constraint over that carrier, and an invariant that tells an analyst whether the named structure is genuinely present.
