Writing process¶
The recursive set of cognitive, social and material activities through which a writer develops, composes, revises and delivers a text.
Core Idea¶
Processes are individualized and task-dependent, stages overlap and recur rather than forming one universal linear sequence and tools and collaborators reshape the workflow. A rhetorical situation prompts idea generation and research, language is drafted into an external representation and rereading, feedback and revision progressively align content, organization and expression with purpose and audience. The abstraction is therefore identified by a declared carrier, a transformation or constraint over that carrier, and an invariant that tells an analyst whether the named structure is genuinely present.
