The Diagnostic Story

Symptom: The agenda has broad surface acceptance, but when you probe it, people can recite the rationale without being able to say who benefits, what evidence is uncertain, or which alternatives were considered. The dominant framing arrived through trusted intermediaries — experts, curricula, editorial commentary — until alternatives felt unserious before they were examined.

Pivot: Build or audit the interpretive infrastructure that is producing acceptance: identify the legitimating frame, the credible intermediaries channeling it, the institutional venues embedding it, and the discourse boundaries that keep alternatives out. Then add safeguards that make interests visible, preserve dissent, and keep the frame genuinely contestable.

Resolution: A shared interpretive frame can gain legitimacy without suppressing alternatives or hiding conflicts of interest. Reviewers can trace how consent was socially produced rather than treating acceptance as spontaneous. Dissent remains legible enough to prevent false consensus.
