Interrupt a recurring harmful cycle at a point where the next recurrence can be prevented.
The Diagnostic Story¶
Symptom: The same crisis keeps returning even after each response seems to resolve it. Resolution actions quietly seed the next episode, and people who have lived through several passes can predict the next one coming — yet still feel unable to stop it. The visible trigger is not the true cause; one-time relief has diminishing effect each round.
Pivot: Map the recurrence loop to find where the next harmful pass is actually regenerated, then intervene before that regeneration completes. Provide a replacement pathway so the original cycle does not simply restart under pressure.
Resolution: The expected next recurrence fails to appear, or weakens enough that automaticity breaks. Short-term relief no longer recreates long-term harm, stability improves without suppressing useful feedback, and the system can see where recurrence was being generated.

Diagnostic problem

What this problem means
