Core pattern

Intrinsic Signature Provenance is useful when provenance cannot be trusted to live only in a separate label, log, registry, or witness statement. It asks: what property travels with the thing itself, remains stable enough under the expected journey, and varies enough by source to support a bounded attribution claim? That property may be natural, process-imprinted, or intentionally embedded.

The archetype has three obligations. First, it must prove that the signature is actually informative: stable, source-specific, measurable, and hard enough to spoof. Second, it must govern the reference set and measurement method so the match is not just a lab artifact or biased library. Third, it must report uncertainty and scope so signature evidence supplements rather than replaces proper custody, accountability, and corroboration.
