The Diagnostic Story

Symptom: The group treats every forecast as a prediction of what will happen and every scenario as entertainment. Planning defaults to extrapolating the present, unlikely futures get dismissed rather than examined, and futures workshops produce enthusiasm and posters with no durable change in how anyone reasons or decides. Foresight capacity stays locked in expert facilitators rather than spreading through the group.

Pivot: Build a repeated practice where participants imagine plural futures, surface the assumptions behind each, compare possibilities, and translate insights into present decisions or experiments — not as one-off exercises but as a recurring, distributed capability owned by the group itself.
